Del Sinchak Del is starting his 61st year as a Band Leader! Del began recording in 1953 with three single releases on the Balkan Record label. He subsequently had four single releases on the Checker Record label, and 8 album releases on the Peppermint Record label. Del led the back up band on the original hit record by the Edsels: "Rama Lama Ding Dong". He also has his own polka show for 13 years broadcasting on WKTX Cortland and WSOM in Youngstown, Ohio.
Del has been the President of the Penn Ohio Polka Pals for 25 years and has received the "Man of the Year" award in 1989. Del received the Trustee's Award by the Cleveland Polka Hall of Fame in 2002 and was inducted into the Ironworld Polka Hall of Fame in Chisholm, MN in 2005. Del has also been the President of the American Federation of Musicians in Youngstown for the past 20 years.
Bob Smrecansky Bob is the original member of the band. Bob was in the 7th grade while Del was in the 8th grade when they started the first Del Sinchak Band. Since then they have shared a lifetime of music together. Bob has been the drummer for all of the Sinchak Band recordings.
Ron "Austie" Austalosh Ron has been a member of the band for about 10 years. Ron is noted throughout the country as one of the great Accordion and Keyboard players in our field. He has a music degree from Youngstown State University and has written many original songs both in the polka field and pop field. Austie recorded with the band on the "LIVE! At Kuzmans" - "Look at Us" - "Polkapizzazz" - and "Best of the Best" albums.
Alan Koss Alan has been a member of the band for about 8 years. He brings years of experience to the band with his complete knowledge of music and his instrument. Alan attended Youngstown State Dana School of Music studying both Upright Bass and Electric Bass. His vocals with the Band have added a real plus. He has performed on the "Look at Us" - "Polkapizzazz" and "Best of the Best" albums.
Joe Colapietro We welcome Joe back to the band! Joe is a long time member of the Del Sinchak Band and is one of the finest sax players in the polka field. His rich melodies can be heard on the first five Del Sinchak Band albums: "Rediscover" - "Hello" - "Let the Sunshine In" - "Polka or Else" and "LIVE! At Kuzmans". Joe's unique style adds immeasurable talent to the Sinchak sound.
